Sunday was a fun day for Travis Kelce, as the mercurial tight end was seen chilling out with Tyrese Haliburton and Georges Niang at a bar. The NBA stars were celebrating their mega contracts as Kelce joined in to triple the mood.
Tyrese and Georges could be seen dishing out a lit-up board with the words “Haliburton and Niang Show.” The club, filled with friends and family of the two stars, danced to the tune and bathed in the neon lights.
Both were having a blast when the clip switches over to the bar, where a certain Chief was grooving to the tune. Wearing a white t-shirt and black cap, Travis Kelce raised a toast for them. One champion to the other, as they partied hard through the night.
Besides the clip, a few behind-the-scenes snapshots were shared by Tyrese Haliburton’s college sweetheart, now the mother of his child, Jade Jones. The fake $100 bills were a nice touch.
Last week, it was announced that All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton had signed a mega $205.9 million for five years contract with the Indiana Pacers of the NBA. However, that could rise to $260 million if he manages to fulfill certain clauses.
Moreover, free agent Georges Niang agreed to a $26 million, 3-year contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Before joining the Cavaliers, he was starring for the Philadelphia 76ers. They gave Niang $6.7 million and a 2-year contract.
How much does Travis Kelce earn playing for the Chiefs?
While the 34-year-old Travis Kelce is the best tight end in the NFL currently, he is not the best paid. The two-time Super Bowl winner is very low down the pecking order in terms of Chiefs’ earners. Despite being part of the Kansas franchise his entire career, Kelce only earns around $14.3 million a year. This year, the eight-time Pro Bowler will make around $11.25 million. Surprisingly, he does not even crack the top 50 earners list in the NFL. Kelce had signed a four-year contract worth $57.2 million in 2020.
No wonder Kelce’s managers and agents tease him sometimes about how little money he makes compared to others. He currently sits third among the tight ends, but if the Patriots give Jonnu Smith a new contract, Kelce will fall even further.
During his latest photoshoot with Vanity Fair, Kelce spilled the beans about how he feels about his low income. “It hits you in the gut a little bit,” said Kelce. “It makes you think you’re being taken advantage of, but I know I enjoy coming to that building (the Chiefs facility) every single day.”
Kelce has been a steady performer for the Chiefs during his time at Arrowhead. However, last season, in which they won the Lombardi Trophy, was Kelce’s best-ever year. He recorded 110 interceptions and two touchdowns and rushed for a total of 1,338 receiving yards.
